Who we are and why this site exists
Golden Lotto Guide is an independently operated website that publishes information about Australian lottery games. We're not affiliated with The Lott, Tabcorp, any state lottery corporation or any government body. We don't sell lottery tickets. We don't process bets. What we do is provide reference information, draw schedules, odds breakdowns and tools that help players make informed choices.
The site was put together because we found it surprisingly hard to find clear, straightforward information about Australian lotteries in one place. Official sites are geared towards selling entries. News articles pop up when there's a big jackpot but disappear just as quickly. We wanted something that stuck around and actually explained how these games work in plain language.
We're a small editorial team based in Sydney. Between us, there's experience in content publishing, data analysis and web development. Nobody here claims to be a lottery expert in the "I can predict winning numbers" sense — that person doesn't exist — but we know the games well and we present the information accurately.
Content is reviewed regularly to make sure it reflects current game formats, odds and rules. When The Lott changes something — like the Powerball format change in 2018 — we update accordingly. If you spot something that's out of date, we'd genuinely appreciate you letting us know via the contact page.
Lotteries are a form of entertainment for most people. A couple of bucks on a Saturday Lotto ticket is harmless fun for millions of Australians. But we also recognise that gambling can become a problem, and we take responsible gambling messaging seriously on this site.
You'll find responsible play information on every lottery page and a dedicated Responsible Play section with links to support services. We think that's important. It's not something we bolt on as an afterthought.
We don't promote any system, strategy or method that claims to improve your odds of winning. The draws are random. Any site or person telling you otherwise is having you on. Our tools section generates random numbers for fun — nothing more.
We aim for accuracy in everything we publish, but we're an information site, not an official lottery operator. Draw results, odds figures and prize amounts should always be verified against the official source — The Lott (thelott.com) or your state or territory lottery authority.
Nothing on this site constitutes financial advice. We don't recommend that anyone play the lottery as a financial strategy. It's entertainment, full stop.
Questions, corrections, feedback — we're always happy to hear from readers. Head to our contact page to get in touch.
